Gates Running Scared Of Wii?

Ah its my habit to sensationalize stuff but a video of an interview broadcasted on Japanese television station, TV Tokyo, Bill Gates says that in the war for dominance in the gaming console market Nintendo is their biggest competitor. This sounds like an acknowledgement of the phenomenal buzz that Wii and the DS have managed to create in the market.

"The strength of Nintendo has been very impressive and surprised a lot of people. And [considering] the strength of the Wii - we see Nintendo as our toughest competition", says Gates.

The general perception before Wii managed to rock the markets was that this would be a war between Microsoft and Sony. But with the PS3 not selling anything like it should - even missing its Global shipment target - Microsoft realizes that the real competition will be from Wii.

I personally feel that the Xbox will rule the markets atleast for now because Wii is more fun if you play it with friends or in a group and PS3 doesn't have the games to take on anybody yet. Would love to know your opinion on who will be winning this war.

Here is the video by the way:
