comScore released its December U.S. Search Engine Rankings which showed that Google has increased its share of the U.S web search market by 0.4% moving up to 47.3% of the total market share. Yahoo too showed an increase in its share of the market moving up from 28.2% in November to 28.5% for the month of December: An increase of 0.3%. No. 3-ranked Microsoft Corp.'s share slid 0.5 percent to 10.5 percent of U.S. Web searches while IAC/InterActive Corp's Ask.com's share dipped 0.1 percent to 5.4 percent.

An estimated 6.5 billion searches were performed this December an increase of 30% compared to last years results. Google lead the pack with about 3.2 billion searches being performed.
