Eurogamer informs us that Microsoft's Xbox 360 HD-DVD player has sold nearly 100,000 units in the US. The add on which was released in November sold 42,000 pieces in the month of its launch and 50,000 more in December.

This is a big thumbs up for HD-DVD because as Xboxic says people who bought the Xbox 360 HD-DVD had to buy it at an additional cost of $200 to the $400 they had to pay for the Xbox.

This does not give us any data to compare it to the Blue-Ray though. Because people who bought the PS3 didn't buy the player's ability to play Blue-Ray discs at an additional cost. On the other hand people who bought the Xbox 360 HD-DVD player bought it specifically for its HD-DVD playing capabilities.
